Creating Equitable Environments in Which Students Can Thrive
STAFF TRAINING OVERVIEW
Our Staff Professional Development Training is for schools and youth-serving organizations working with girls in grades 5-12 who want to create a healing-centered environment for their students and participants. Designed to meet the needs of the most marginalized girls and proven to be successful for all students, including co-ed environments.
- Shifting adult mindsets, protocols, and practices to serve the needs of all youth
- Lessons and strategies to implement immediately in your space
- Structures and systems that promote equitable outcomes
- Content tailored to the needs of your unique organization
We’ll start off with a discovery call to learn more about your current needs and explore which modules from our Power ColLABorative Training will meet our collective outcomes. We also send a pre-survey to all staff to further gauge their needs, as we co-design the experience with you. Our Training Director will then recommend a set of PD modules that meet your needs and administer a post-survey upon completion of the training to measure the growth and learning of your staff.
The training includes three live 90-minute Zoom meetings facilitated by our training staff and covers three of the following modules.
1) Brave Space Groundwork
2) Social-Emotional Learning
3) Culturally Responsive Mindsets
4) Bias Intervention
5) Trauma-Informed Practice
6) Compassion Fatigue
7) Healing-Centered Engagement
Evaluations conducted by InformingChange.com indicate.:
93% said they were confident in their ability to use a culturally responsive mindset and practices (compared to 49% in the pre-training survey).
93% said they were confident in their ability to teach youth how to identify values, beliefs, and biases (compared to 58% in the pre-training survey).

“This entire curriculum is based on equity and access. Bless your work, this is really helpful for addressing diversity in my content. There isn’t a lot available online at times which adds on to our teacher load and having this content available to me now makes it that much easier to be fully present during class.”

“The training … provided a productive reframing of how we can learn about ourselves, change the way we structure programming, and grow to be able to better serve the youth that we work with.”
