Staff Training Online

Online Staff Training

Learn to create a healing-centered environment for yourself and the youth you serve with a training and SEL curriculum that centers racial and gender equity. As a participant, you’ll work together with other girl-serving professionals to develop gender and culturally responsive mindsets and practices that are immediately applicable to your own life and your work with youth.

How It Works

We don’t expect you to drop everything and spend all day learning online. This experience will allow you to engage, both as a group and independently,  with the material over 4-weeks on Google Classroom, taking as much time as you need. We will meet weekly on Zoom for 90-minutes to connect and collaborate. In addition to the training, you will receive a robust curriculum with 50+ gender and culturally responsive lessons with suggested sequences, resource links, handouts, and materials developed specifically for grades 5-8, with the ability to adapt for other grade levels.

Training Modules

The training was designed to meet the needs of the most marginalized girls and proven to be successful for all youth, including multi-gendered environments. The learning is rooted in collaboration and includes interactive exercises across 7 modules:

1) Brave Space Groundwork
2) Social-Emotional Learning
3) Culturally Responsive Mindsets
4) Bias Intervention
5) Trauma-Informed Practice
6) Compassion Fatigue
7) Healing-Centered Engagement

What Participants Are Saying

“So far, this has been the best workshop I have been to. Why? Because they made it safe; gave us data and taught us important concepts through visual & auditory tools; had us reflect; was interactive and gave us tangible lessons to implement in our work environment. Hit all markers! Thank you”

“This entire curriculum is based on equity and access. Bless your work, this is really helpful for addressing diversity in my content. There isn’t a lot available online at times which adds on to our teacher load and having this content available to me now makes it that much easier to be fully present during class.”

“The training provided a productive reframing of how we can learn about ourselves, change the way we structure programming, and grow to be able to better serve the youth that we work with.”
