How To Apply

Welcome! To ensure a place at the Summer Program, please apply as soon as possible. Once a grade level is full, applications will proceed to a waiting list.

In order to be considered for the program, step 2 must be completed by May 5, 2017. After completing the application process, new participants will be contacted for an interview and then notified regarding acceptance.

Step 1 – Review Summer Program Description

Let’s get started. Review the Summer Program descriptions for the grade you’re considering. We have provided a lot of useful information about each session and what you can expect over the 10-15 days. If you would like to be connected to an alumnae family, please contact us.

Entering Grade 9: SESSION FULL
Entering Grade 10-12: SESSION FULL

Step 2 – Application: Completed Online By May 5th

Parents/guardians, we value your time and have made this process as simple as possible. Please start by completing the online registration, which asks for basic information.

This step requires a non-refundable $50 application fee. The fee is refundable if you are applying for financial aid. To apply for aid, please select “Yes” when you come to the question “Will you be applying for financial aid?”

Once you’ve submitted the items above you will receive a confirmation email from our Director of Programs, and a prompt to download and complete the “Summer Program Application 2017”. This form has a parent/guardian section and a participant section, each asks for additional details about the participant. When you’re ready, upload the application to your family’s online account.

We understand that these things take time. We’ll prioritize your spot for two weeks. If we haven’t received the completed application within two weeks we will need to release the spot to the next applicant. If you have any questions along the way or get stuck, please contact us. We’re here to help.

Step 3 – Family Interview*

*First Time Participants Only

We are always excited to welcome new participants into the Girls Leadership community. All first time participants will complete a 20-minute family interview. This is an opportunity for Girls Leadership to “meet” your family and learn more about your interests and goals for attending our summer program. It is also an opportunity for the family to learn more about Girls Leadership and ask questions about the Summer Program. This interview is usually scheduled through Skype, Google Hangout, or Facetime, or by phone if this is the only available option.

Step 4 – Notification Letter

We will review your entire application and let you know our decision within two weeks. If accepted to the Girls Leadership Summer Program, you will receive an email acknowledging your acceptance.

Please note that your preferred payment method will be charged within three days of receiving the above mentioned acceptance email. Please see Payment Options below for a more detailed breakdown of the deposit amounts and payment options.

Attendance

We build an intentional experience for each girl. Much of the formative community building and bonding occurs within the first day and a half of the program. For this reason we do not allow girls to arrive after the first morning of the first full day. This guideline is in place to ensure the integrity of the community and that each girl does not lose out on this amazing opportunity!

Additionally, we do not allow more than two days of absence after the start of the program. An absence from the summer program is only permitted for valid reasons (such as illness or family emergency). Consistent attendance is required in order to build a strong community.

Payment Plan: By selecting Payment Plan, your preferred payment method will be charged a 25% deposit upon acceptance. The remaining balance will then be divided into equal monthly payments between the date accepted and May 15, 2017.

Please see below if you are planning on applying for financial aid.

All accounts must be paid in full by May 15, 2017. Financial Aid awards result in different deadlines; please see below for more information.

Financial Aid

If you plan to apply for financial aid, please be sure to apply as soon as possible, as financial aid is awarded on a rolling basis. Once all our available financial aid funds have been allocated, we will be unable to offer any further aid.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

If you would like to apply for financial aid, please select “Yes” when you come to the question “Will you be applying for financial aid?” during the registration process. Please note we are only able to award up to 30% of the full tuition to those applying for financial aid.

If accepted into the program, we will send an email with instructions to complete our Financial Aid Application, which is a form to be filled out online. You are also required to upload a copy of your 2015 Federal Tax Return into your online account for review. These documents are required to be completed and uploaded into your online account within one week of receiving the email. If the Application and 2015 Federal Tax Return are not uploaded within one week, we will no longer prioritize a spot in the Summer Program for the participant.

You will receive a decision within one week once this information has been received.

Financial Aid Payment Plan

Financial Aid families will receive a payment plan, which will begin in the month they are accepted into the program. If the acceptance comes prior to the 15th of the month, the payment plan will begin in that month. If the acceptance comes after the 15th of the month, the payment plan will begin on the 15th of the following month. The tuition balance, less the financial aid award, will be divided into equal monthly payments between the date accepted and September 15, 2017.

All Financial Aid family accounts must be paid in full by September 15, 2017.

How Financial Aid is Determined

The participant’s acceptance to the program is not contingent on your financial aid request. We encourage everyone to apply. If we cannot match your needs for aid and you are unable to continue with the enrollment process, you will be offered a full refund, including the $50 application fee.

Cancellation Policy

The $50 application fee is non-refundable. This fee is only refundable if the applicant has also applied for financial aid in order to attend the program and ultimately does not secure the subsidized funding.

Please see below for our cancellation policy regarding the full Summer Program tuition:

  1. Before April 1: Full refund (minus non-refundable $50 application fee).
  2. Between April 1 and May 24: 50% tuition refund (minus non-refundable $50 application fee).
  3. After May 24: No refund.
