Entering Grade 6th, 7th, and 8th
We’re busy designing a powerful summer camp for June, July, and August of 2021. Please join our mailing list for the latest camp announcements and registration information. We hope to announce our plans on April 1.
A Summer Camp Like No Other
Our internationally-recognized Summer Program, founded in 2001, is a camp experience for girls like no other. Combining the best of traditional summer camp – amazing friendships, fun games and community activities, and a powerhouse team of experienced staff – with something no other camp offers:
Engaging workshops that teach inter-personal and intra-personal skills at the foundation of wellness, leadership, and influence.
SHE HAS VOICE AND CHOICE
Our camp focuses on social and emotional learning (SEL) and is co-designed with the Girl Advisory Board and our Summer Program alumnae. In 2020, these leaders envisioned a powerful way to bring the magic of our residential program online. The daily schedule covers core lessons in the morning and leaves afternoons flexible.
We will run two camps. One that starts at 10a.m EST and one that starts at 10a.m. PST
UPDATE: We have added a third camp starting at 10am MST for the week of June 15 and June 22.
10:00-11:00a.m. Community Building, Games + Workshops
Girls will play games (yes, even on Zoom!) and build a tight-knit community where they can take risks and grow. In workshops we teach the invisible and internal skills at the heart of wellness, self-care, and healthy and rewarding relationships.
11:00-11:30a.m. Project-Based Learning
Learn to identify your values. Our values reveal how we behave in our relationships. We’ll explore projects that align to your values to transform your relationships and leave you feeling empowered.
1:00-1:30p.m. Mid-Day Activities (Opt-in)
This is a creative space to build solo projects and collaborate on performance and virtual yearbook.
2:00-3:00p.m. Advisory (Opt-in)
Participate in small group discussions to build community through individual sharing and personal support. Example conversation starters include “what strength are you leaning into today?”, “Or what are you learning about yourself through this challenge?”
6:30-8:00p.m. Community Activity (Opt-in)
What would camp be without our fun nightly community activities? Get ready for Tik Tok dance challenges, movie nights, fashion challenges, and game night.
MEET YOUR CAMP COUNSELORS
A program is only as good as its people. That is why Iris Perkins, our Summer Program Director, Zoom-ba teacher, and Girls Advisory Board leader is joining six-year Girls Leadership veteran educator, Danielle Bero, to lead our two camps along with multi-year alumnae and staff member, Brooke Niemer, as our Summer Program Associate.
UPDATE: Our camp starting at 10am MST will be lead by our New York Training Manager, Jordan Elizabeth.
“You are an excellent instructor – upbeat and make it fun for all and open (inclusive) of all levels. Thank you!” – Parent
MEET YOUR COUNSELORS-IN-TRAINING (CITS)
We know role models are important and your CITS at camp are some of the best. They have been coming to Girls Leadership’s camp for years and are here to role model everyday leadership through creating an inclusive community; leading games and activities; teaching the core Girls Leadership skills; facilitating group conversations; and managing peer relationships, including conflict management.
We can’t wait to introduce you to Ellery, Kaila, Maya, Naysa, Nila, Oona, and Zoe.
