Social awareness is how we understand our experiences are similar to or different from others’. Combined with diversity, social awareness is how allyship and solidarity help build community across identities. That’s why we’re offering a new training focused on social awareness and diversity.

In this session, we’ll explore culture and social-emotional learning with a focus on racial and gender equity. We’ll start with personal reflection on communication and understanding different perspectives, then dive into cultural awareness and appreciation. You’ll also practice recognizing and addressing microaggressions to better support marginalized youth and girls of color. Plus, there will be chances to engage in mindfulness and have some fun along the way!

This module’s activities and curriculum are co-designed and tested by girls and gender-expansive youth. Thirty lessons total, spanning developmental stages from grades 6 to 12.
