California Regional Director

The California Regional Director will:

  • Develop and plan regional strategy in alignment with Girls Leadership’s national strategy, including annual objectives for the region and measure progress towards these objectives
  • Recruit, retain, and manage a 12 person regional Board of Directors with clear donation and/or fundraising goals
  • Lead programmatic impact, including building and sustaining relationships with schools, districts, and community partners
  • Lead fundraising efforts including, soliciting and stewarding individual, corporate and foundation grants to meet to Fund development goals
  • Partner with the National Program Director to deliver on regional program goals
  • Support the planning of an annual fundraising event, and other potential events 


The ideal candidate:

  • Is passionate about girls’ empowerment and leadership;
  • Interacts effectively with diverse stakeholders and staff, and is committed to expanding and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion;
  • Fundraising experience in the $250K+  per year range;
  • Grant and proposal writing experience 
  • Knowledgeable about the Bay Area non-profit community and has experience partnering with various constituencies 
  • Experience managing relationships, and tracking those relationships in a customer relationship management system;
  • Works with high attention to detail and can manage multiple tasks and competing priorities;
  • Is a self-motivated, resourceful, innovative and strategic thinker, comfortable working independently with high personal accountability;
  • Experience managing and collaborating with team members 
  • Experience with a CRM platform; Salesforce a plus;

  • Resides in the California Bay Area
  • able to work a hybrid schedule ( in-person and work from home) and adhere to Covid safety protocols including proof of vaccination 

Compensation & Benefits: $90,000-$100,000 annual salary with health/dental benefits.
