The cost of Brave Conversations: The Power of Authentic Communication for us is $50 per participant. We understand that different folks are navigating varying levels of access to funding for professional development opportunities. Our sliding scale offers you the opportunity to pay the amount that aligns with the funds that you have available to cover the cost.

Teaching healthy relationship skills to youth means guiding them through online and in-person relationships as they grow into full members of their communities. That’s why we’re offering a new training focused on relationship skills and community building.

In this 2-hour online session, we will explore elements of healthy relationships, and the types of healthy boundaries that feel most supportive to our everyday dynamics. Together, we’ll practice how to have effective dialogue in challenging situations. Additionally, we’ll role play some scenarios that youth might be exposed to in their online interactions and explore strategies for increasing responsible digital citizenship. You can also expect to lean into community-building and play!

This module’s activities and curriculum are co-created and tested by girls and gender-expansive youth.

This training includes 30+ lessons and activities such as:

  • Setting Boundaries
  • Weighing Choices: Cost vs. Benefit
  • When Social Media Gets Messy

 

Brave Conversations: The Power of Authentic Communication Objectives

In this module, you will:

  1. Deepen your understanding of healthy relationships, through the lens of values and boundary setting.
  2. Develop strategies for effective communication in the face of challenging dynamics and situations.
  3. explore strategies for increasing responsible digital citizenship.

The curriculum has been tested by educators and students to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with their needs.

Who is the professional development for? 
The sessions are designed for educators, administrators, district leaders, youth-serving professionals, counselors, and formal volunteers who work regularly with youth in grades 6–12/ ages 10-18.
