Athlete’s Circle of Support

Athlete’s Circle of Support

Clear roles. Better communication. Stronger support for every athlete.

June 17, 2026
2:00–4:00 PM PT / 3:00–5:00 PM MT / 4:00–6:00 PM CT / 5:00–7:00 PM ET

Athletes don’t just need support — they need the right support from the adults in their lives. This 2-hour virtual training helps coaches, parents, and caregivers understand their role, communicate more effectively, and avoid the mixed messages that create pressure.

When adults get it right, athletes feel more confident, supported, and motivated to stay in the game.

Why This Training Matters

Girls are telling us what they need:
less pressure, fewer mixed messages, and adults who know how to support without taking over.

When coaches and caregivers understand their role, athletes are more likely to feel valued, take healthy risks, recover from mistakes, and enjoy the game.

What You’ll Learn & Experience

Participants will learn how to:

  • Understand the distinct role of coaches, parents, and caregivers in supporting athlete confidence and well-being
  • Communicate more effectively across home and sports environments
  • Reduce harmful pressure, criticism, and negative sideline behaviors
  • Support athletes through stress, mistakes, and fear of failure
  • Create conditions where athletes feel supported, confident, and empowered to stay in sports

This is an interactive, practical training grounded in the lived experiences of girls and gender-expansive youth in sports. Participants will reflect on real sports scenarios, explore athlete-centered support strategies, and walk away with tools they can use immediately.

What Makes This Training Different

Grounded in Girls Leadership’s work with girls and gender-expansive youth, it brings forward what girls consistently tell us: that conflicting messages, pressure, and unclear roles impact their experience in sports. By helping adults understand their role and communicate effectively, this training creates the conditions where confidence, resilience, and belonging can grow.

What Participants Walk Away With

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

  • A deeper understanding of what girls and gender-expansive athletes need from the adults around them
  • Greater clarity on your role in creating an environment where athletes feel supported and able to grow
  • Practical tools to communicate effectively and reduce conflicting messages
  • Strategies to support confidence, resilience, and long-term engagement in sports
  • A more intentional approach to showing up for athletes — on and off the field

Join Us on June 17th and walk away with practical tools to reduce pressure, support confidence, and help girls stay in the game!
