Athletes don’t just need support — they need the right support from the adults in their lives. This 2-hour virtual training helps coaches, parents, and caregivers understand their role, communicate more effectively, and avoid the mixed messages that create pressure.
When adults get it right, athletes feel more confident, supported, and motivated to stay in the game.
Why This Training Matters
Girls are telling us what they need:
less pressure, fewer mixed messages, and adults who know how to support without taking over.
When coaches and caregivers understand their role, athletes are more likely to feel valued, take healthy risks, recover from mistakes, and enjoy the game.
What You’ll Learn & Experience
Participants will learn how to:
- Understand the distinct role of coaches, parents, and caregivers in supporting athlete confidence and well-being
- Communicate more effectively across home and sports environments
- Reduce harmful pressure, criticism, and negative sideline behaviors
- Support athletes through stress, mistakes, and fear of failure
- Create conditions where athletes feel supported, confident, and empowered to stay in sports
This is an interactive, practical training grounded in the lived experiences of girls and gender-expansive youth in sports. Participants will reflect on real sports scenarios, explore athlete-centered support strategies, and walk away with tools they can use immediately.
