Shana joins Girls Leadership with a professional career spanning 20 years in corporate sales, training and leadership development, and elementary education. She is so excited to have the opportunity to combine all of those experiences to serve girls in Colorado.
A Colorado native, she graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Shana enjoyed building business partnerships, earning accolades not only for top sales achievement but also for peer leadership. Most importantly, clients consistently valued the high level of integrity and customer care that she brought to the table.
The opportunity to lead sales training and leadership development with Merck led Shana into training and education. She became a certified teacher and Program Director and taught Early Childhood through second grade for 6 years. Shana found Girls Leadership through a search for educational opportunities for social and emotional development for girls – both for the students in her school and for her own daughter. She recently began working with local university career service groups to identify the skills girls need to develop for success in college and career.
At home, a busy family with two high school teenagers keeps her life very active, and she enjoys volunteering for their swim team, theatre, and choir. A lover of the outdoors, Shana spends her time with her husband and kids in Colorado hiking, camping, and skiing as well as in Florida enjoying the Gulf Coast. She loves cooking, reading just about any book that comes her way, and long walks with her two Labradors.
