Sara Jade Alan is a teacher, writer, and performer passionate about using the tools of storytelling, play, and humor to help kids thrive. She wrote her first comedy sketch during second-grade recess, then cast it, directed it, and made costumes out of garbage bags. Since then she’s performed in more than a thousand improvised and scripted shows. Her debut young adult novel, A Messy, Beautiful Life, is a finalist for the Colorado Book Awards. Sara is also a Certified Yoga Instructor and taught Vinyasa, restorative, and family yoga for nine years. Currently she is a faculty member of Lighthouse Writers Workshop’s Youth Writers Program, specializing in teaching improv for young writers. When she’s not teaching, writing, or performing, Sara loves playing with her daughter, reading books, and going on family bike rides.
