Meghan Trutter

Meghan is a 5th grade teacher in the San Francisco Bay area who has taught children from pre-K to 8th grade for almost a decade.  She is thrilled to join Girls Leadership as an educator and to bring her love of learning and passion for teaching along with her.

She earned her BA in Elementary Education, and later received her Masters in Language Arts and Reading from Santa Clara University in 2012. Meghan is an Illinois native who moved to the Bay Area on a whim, but has enjoyed her new home ever since!  With a mid-west heart and a California spirit, Meghan knows the importance of finding your voice and following your heart and wants to help empower girls to do the same.

In her classroom, she emphasizes the importance of teaching the whole child. She regularly integrates mindfulness lessons into the curriculum, fostering an environment where students are aware of their emotions and mindful of their actions. When she’s not teaching, Meghan enjoys hiking, visiting the local farmer’s market, and listening to her favorite podcasts while cooking.  She is looking forward to being part of a community that encourages self-advocacy and girls’ empowerment.
