Mari Horita

Senior Vice President, Social Impact & Government Relations for the Seattle Kraken and Executive Director of One Roof Foundation

As Senior Vice President, Social Impact & Government Relations for the Seattle Kraken and Executive Director of One Roof Foundation, Mari Horita sits on the team’s executive committee and leads the development and implementation of the social impact, philanthropic, and DE&I vision and strategy for the Seattle Kraken.

Prior to joining the Kraken Mari was President and CEO of ArtsFund, where she led the organization’s strategic transition to better represent and serve the evolving population and arts community in the Puget Sound region. 

Mari has served on a number of nonprofit boards including United Way of King County, Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, ArtsFund, Asian Bar Association of Washington, Bertschi School, Densho, YouthCare, and the Advisory Board for the Foster School’s Board Fellows Program.  She currently co-chairs the Board DE&I Committee for the Downtown Seattle Association, is a member of the Committee of 33, and serves on the Boards of the UW Foundation, Seattle Art Museum, and Seattle Center Foundation, as well as the Advisory Board of Copper Strategic.  A lawyer by training, Mari practiced law at Bogle & Gates, and later Dorsey & Whitney and K&L Gates. 

Mari has played violin with the Vina Musica String Quartet for the past 25 years and before that performed with the Seattle Youth Symphony, the Denver Philharmonic, and the Vancouver Academy of Music Orchestra. Her daughter, Naomi, is a freshman at Carleton College.  Mari holds a B.A. from Pomona College, a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law, and an M.A. in Nonprofit Leadership from Seattle University.
