Maggie Walsh began her journey with Girls Leadership as an intern Counselor for GL day camps in NJ and is eager to begin her journey as an Educator. She earned a Masters in Counseling, concentration in School Counseling from Montclair State University, and Bachelors in Psychology from Loyola University of Maryland. Currently, Maggie is a school counselor at two upper elementary schools working with fifth and sixth grade students. She is dedicated to helping children develop holistically – enhancing their sense of self, and building confidence and awareness. Maggie facilitates Be Your Own You groups at her schools which are small counseling groups specifically for girls, with a focus on encouraging girls to find their voices and teaching them the skills they need to build and maintain healthy relationships. Maggie is also a parent trainer working with families of children with autism. With a passion to lead a healthy lifestyle, she is a spin instructor for a boot camp facility in Bergen County. In her spare time, she loves to cook healthy meals and spend time hiking. Maggie is proud to become a member of the GL community and looks forward to connecting with more of the amazing GL family!
