Lisamarie Slattery

Lisamarie is very excited to join the Girls Leadership team as a NJ educator. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, since 1999. She earned a Masters in Counseling, Human Services and Guidance from Montclair State University and a Bachelors in Psychology from Rutgers. She has enjoyed working with children for the past 25 years. Lisamarie began her career working at a mental health center providing parent training, behavioral management training and crisis intervention services to at risk youth and their families. She continued her work as an educator at an after school enrichment program teaching conflict resolution and team building to elementary aged students. In addition, Lisamarie worked as a preschool teacher for eight years, enjoying the silliness and pure genuineness of the children.  Most recently, Lisamarie was the director and facilitator of The Girl Project, a program that teaches girls the skills they need to build and maintain healthy relationships. Lisamarie’s passion for empowering girls grew during her work with The Girl Project and she can’t wait to share this passion with the girls/parents she meets through Girls Leadership. In her free time, Lisamarie has been involved with Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, volunteering as a troop leader. She loves to cook and spend time at the beach with her husband and two children.
