Kathryn Farkas

Teaching Counselor: Soapbox – Art & Identity

Kathryn is a native of Kansas City, Missouri. Currently enrolled at the University of Texas at Austin, she is pursuing a MA in Art Education, an interest she discovered while teaching in South Korea. Kathryn holds a BFA in English from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois. She has lived, studied and worked abroad in places such as South Africa, Japan and Hungary. Kathryn believes in art curriculums that inspire artistic and creative thinking where participation can foster empathy, open-mindedness and critical reflection. This summer with Girls Leadership, she looks forward to exploring themes of identity and leadership through art activities. When not busy with work and studies, she loves to read fiction, eat good food, play games and create art with friends.
