Chantel Taite

Residential Counselor

Born and raised a southern belle of Mississippi, Chantel moved to sunny California to study Comparative Literature at the University of California, Berkeley in 2011. Studying the translation of literatures in their national languages, Chantel has become fluent in the Italian and French language. Seizing many opportunities to study abroad, Chantel has completed a large portion of her undergraduate education at New York University, the University of Bologna in Italy, and the University of Bordeaux in France. Her academic interests are around racial awareness and tension within the African Diaspora through a transnational framework. When not analyzing foreign texts and writing essays, Chantel spends most of her time laying barefoot in the sun listening to soft R&B, Hip-Hop, and Alternative music. You can also find her eating gummy bears while intently watching Bob’s Burgers.
