Alana Garcia

Director of Finance and Human Resources

Alana is thrilled to return to Girls Leadership, where she began her career in 2012 managing operations and administration for the organization’s national programs. She now rejoins the team as Director of Finance and Human Resources, bringing a decade of experience in accounting and finance with community-focused organizations and cultural institutions in both the Bay Area and New York.

Alana spent more than five years in the arts and live entertainment sector, managing high-volume accounting operations at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and Superfly Productions in New York. In 2021, she pivoted to entrepreneurship, running a consulting practice and providing back-office services to growing companies in the retail, consumer product, and publishing sectors. She also opened a boutique gift store in Brooklyn, which she co-owned and operated until 2025. Alana has a passion for supporting small teams through growth and change, and enjoys implementing creative solutions to help streamline day-to-day operations.

Born in Los Angeles, raised in the Bay Area, and now living in Brooklyn, Alana is a city girl at heart, a spreadsheet enthusiast, and an astrology nerd. She loves live music, connecting with nature and animals, exploring new restaurants and coffee shops, and unwinding with a good book or podcast.
