Alana Baum

Residential Teaching Counselor

Alana comes to Girls Leadership from the Bay Area, where she facilitates workshops on consensual communication, anti-oppression, gender, and sexuality. She received her B.A. in Peace and Conflict Studies from UC Berkeley, where she had the opportunity to infuse academia with activism by studying consent education and designing curriculum for students. Alana loves solo travel adventures, and will arrive at camp this summer via cross-country train trip! She is usually nose-deep in a book, a cup of coffee, or an abundantly-topped homemade pizza (sometimes all at once). She spends her free time writing & performing poetry, reading between all kinds of lines, and aspiring to live and learn with radical compassion and honest communication. She is honored to be a part of this special community, and can’t wait to spend the summer learning and growing with you all!
